This is my 110th posting!
There’s a need to find out who my blog cruisers are. I hate to call them blog lurkers, like it’s something illegal to check someone else’s website. Mind you, if these people do not want anyone to see their blog, they will make it private.
In order to know these blog cruisers, I need to entice them to respond or comment. As curious as I am of other people’s blogs, I feel that if I really enjoy reading them, I’d like to let these writers know I value their websites. In turn, I’d like people to interact with mine.
When I first started posting, I thought it would be neat to write down my thoughts, whims, hobbies, kvetchings, etc.. Like a diary. Unlike a diary, a blog is more open. Open to public scrutiny. Some people are brave enough to reveal all of themselves and their inner most feelings and thoughts; some are not so brave (like me). Some crave the popularity of their website; and some are just below the radar. Overall, what every blogger would wish for people, in small or large capacity, is to stop by, visit, and interact. I hope that’s what most bloggers think. Am I wrong about this?
Me. I’d like to know what type of people stop by. By ‘type’ I mean, are they just…knitters? Asian? foodies? Who knows who else get attracted to my site. Perverts? (Gee, I sure hope not!) Spammers? Salespeople? Advertisers?
Speaking of spammers, here’s one trick I accidentally discovered will minimize, if not eliminate, the spamming of your blog entry. For example, when I wrote about my veh*cular acc*dent, I was bombarded with c*r insur*nce spams. If you notice, I now put ‘astericks’ instead of vowels on the most common words that spammers scan on blogs.
And advertisers….well, at the moment, I would like my website in a minimalist format. Meaning, no advertising, no members of such and such. I’d like it to be as clutterless as possible. In the future, I might reconsider. People should always be evolving, improving, growing. But not right now in terms of this blog. Remember, I only entered the blogsphere in February of this year.
So, on to the 150th Post Stash Giveaway.
By the way, I decided not to give a contest. Too much drama and work for this lazy, g**dfernuthin’… (hey wait a minute! be nice!)……old lady.
For now, here are few items I’m building up for the stash giveaway.
- Yarns*
- Knitted item or two*
- Local products, at least made in Oregon*
More items (and not necessarily of the fiber kind) will be included up to prior to the 150th post. So stay tuned.
i hope you will be so kind enough to be fair and even count comments from your YS…nepotism hasn’t been regarded as a taboo in the blogging world! So, let me just say, if ever you pick my name, i’d want as a stash giveaway:
1) yarn for my crochet projects – i do intend to put up the fotos if only i can remember my website and password!;
2) something from Oregon – homemade and natural jams!!!!! and lotsa lavender!
Oh, okay, after i posted my earlier comments, I felt really stupid and spoiled for demanding what my giveaways should comprise of.
To atone myself, I will just state here that anything you want to give me would suffice, JUST GIVE IT TO ME!
Now, isn’t that nicer???
Mwahahahhaahhaha!
I’m an occasional blog cruiser, interested in food too but mostly here for the knitting.
